About the Role
We are seeking a highly proactive and experienced Head of Marketplace Operations to oversee all operational aspects of the G-Commerce platform and its SaaS marketplaces. This role is critical in ensuring smooth order processing, supplier management, and customer engagement. You will be responsible for handling buyer and supplier inquiries, optimizing logistics practices, and collaborating across teams to continuously improve our platform. If you have a background in e-commerce operations and understand government procurement, this role is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape our marketplace operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage Marketplace Operations – Oversee the entire order lifecycle, ensuring timely and efficient processing of orders from suppliers to government buyers.
- Customer Support & Engagement – Serve as the primary point of contact for buyer inquiries via live chat, email, and phone. Address support requests and resolve order-related issues.
- Supplier Management – Work directly with suppliers to maintain strong order fulfillment practices. Ensure compliance with G-Commerce policies and assist in sourcing items when needed.
- Logistics Optimization – Collaborate with the supply team to enforce best logistics practices among suppliers, ensuring efficient delivery and adherence to contract requirements.
- Process Improvement & Collaboration – Partner with the tech and implementation teams to identify and implement enhancements to the G-Commerce platform, making operations more seamless and scalable.
- Government Procurement Expertise – Apply knowledge of federal purchasing processes to optimize marketplace efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Regulatory Compliance – Ensure marketplace operations adhere to federal, state, and local procurement regulations, maintaining full compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, E-Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in e-commerce operations, marketplace management, or supply chain logistics.
- Knowledge of government procurement and GSA schedules is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage order processing, supplier relationships, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with buyers and suppliers via email, phone, and live chat.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions to optimize operations.
- Tech-savvy with experience using SaaS platforms, order management systems, and workflow automation tools.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of marketplace operations with minimal supervision.
