About the role

Job Summary

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for building and sustaining site capability to ensure that assets consistently support operational schedules without disruption. This role delivers results by deploying the One Aerospace strategy, including standardization, workforce training, coaching, and the implementation of best practices across the function.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and promote a safety first mindset while ensuring full compliance with all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards.
  • Lead and develop a multi disciplined team responsible for planning and executing asset maintenance to increase equipment availability and reliability.
  • Partner with Continuous Improvement teams to deploy and mature the Maintenance Program.
  • Implement both short term and long term Facilities and Maintenance people strategies, including competence development, talent acquisition, employee retention, and skills development.
  • Drive the function toward the required maturity level by planning and delivering transformational initiatives.
  • Ensure the implementation and ongoing governance of standards and key performance indicators for the Facilities and Maintenance function.
  • Establish and maintain a layered process audit system that supports adherence to Facilities and Maintenance standards. Contribute to defining the core versus non core capabilities for the function and lead the implementation of Make versus Buy decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Head of ME and the Global Head of Advanced ME in defining machinery and equipment standards.
  • Deliver cost savings in line with annual conversion cost targets through effective Facilities and Maintenance management.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Operations, Facilities, or Maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience implementing functional capability within Facilities and/or Maintenance
  • Technical expertise in maintenance or facilities engineering with a related professional qualification or engineering background
  • Proven ability to lead and influence change
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement and LEAN methodologies
  • Background working on complex technical projects within global organizations
  • Advanced communication and influencing capabilities with the ability to engage senior leaders and build collaborative relationships across departments and geographies
  • Demonstrated structured problem solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Project or Program Management
  • Detailed knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
