About the role

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure the reliable performance of plant equipment by leading advanced troubleshooting activities, making program and control system modifications, and supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This role safeguards system integrity, compliance, and plant uptime through technical expertise, structured diagnostics, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Controls Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control‑related equipment issues.
  • Perform program modifications to optimize machine performance and ensure efficient operation.

Systems Management & Documentation

  • Establish and manage system access protocols, backups, and data recovery processes.
  • Maintain inventory of machine software packages and ensure updates are installed as needed.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, lessons learned, and troubleshooting guides for equipment.

Vendor & Cross‑Functional Support

  • Communicate with external vendors to resolve complex equipment or controls problems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, suppliers, and customers on equipment improvements and product development.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

  • Train maintenance personnel in troubleshooting, diagnostic methods, corrective maintenance, and safe work practices.
  • Support skill development and cross‑training across technical teams.

Safety, Compliance & Standards

  • Maintain certifications such as Lockout/Tagout, CPR, First Aid, and Confined Space Entry.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to OSHA, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and all relevant standards.
  • Identify and escalate any Environmental, Health, Safety, or Quality concerns.

Maintenance Execution & CMMS

  • Document all activities in the CMMS (EAM).
  • Identify required parts through machine manuals and submit purchase requisitions in SAP.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required).
  • Experience in the automotive industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, controls, and industrial systems troubleshooting.

  • Advanced Troubleshooting: ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues, including PLCs, sensors, wiring, and mechanical components.

  • Training Capability: strong communication skills to train and guide maintenance technicians.
  • Safety & Compliance Orientation: strict adherence to regulatory, environmental, and organizational standards.
