Intern - Green And Digital Transition (DTC)

The Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) Kenya is a project commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) and the European Union (EU). It was established to support the country's digital transition towards a sustainable and human-centered digital economy and society. The DTC capitalizes on the existing digital and innovation ecosystem and seeks to strengthen it, while also looking at the wider societal impact of digital technologies. Through establishing of strategic partnerships across a wide spectrum of public, private, and civil society actors, the DTC's engagement encompasses several components and flagships, such as the Gig Economy Initiative. A new focus of the DTC will be on Green and Digital Transition – also known as Twin Transition. A number of ongoing activities are already falling under this topic; some new activities are supposed to be developed and initiated. This internship provides an experience to learn for individuals who are keenly interested in the intersection of sustainability and digital innovation. The intern will provide support for project work in twin transition space, green innovation ecosystems and climate-smart digital solutions. Responsibilities The intern is responsible for: Supporting implementation of green economy and twin transition activities. Conducting research and analysis on digital tools that support sustainability. Supporting project teams in organizing events, workshops, and stakeholder engagements. Assisting in drafting concept notes, reports, presentations, and communications on green digital initiatives. Supporting documentation and knowledge management for green and digital initiatives. Tasks The Intern will perform the following tasks in close collaboration with the DTC's Green and Digital Transitions Advisor. Project Support Support implementation of green and digital pilot initiatives. Contribute to preparation and follow-up of stakeholder engagements and technical workshops. Provide assistance in monitoring and evaluation of twin transition activities. Research and Content Development Conduct basic literature reviews and benchmarking studies on green digital solutions (e.g., green fintech, circular economy platforms, digital climate tools). Contribute to the development of knowledge products such as policy briefs, infographics, and reports. Event Support Support in organizing and documenting events on digital sustainability themes. Assist with visibility materials and partner outreach. Other Duties Perform other related tasks as assigned. Support identification of synergies with other DTC and GIZ Kenya projects.
