Guardian Verification Body operates under internationally recognised frameworks including:
- ISO/IEC 17029 (Validation and Verification Bodies)
- ISO 14064-3 (GHG Verification)
- ISO 14064-1 (Organisational GHG Inventories)
As India accelerates toward climate transparency and Net Zero commitments, we are expanding our national panel of technically competent GHG Verifiers to support independent and credible carbon assurance engagements.
Role Overview
This is a contract-based hybrid role (Pan India) involving both on-site verification engagements and remote document review.
The GHG Verifier will independently assess organisational greenhouse gas inventories and emissions disclosures to ensure conformity with ISO 14064-3 and related reporting frameworks.
This role requires strong analytical capability, audit discipline, structured documentation skills, and professional judgement aligned with accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The selected professional will:
- Conduct independent verification of organisational GHG inventories
- Review Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions calculations
- Evaluate activity data, emission factors (IPCC/national factors), and assumptions
- Perform risk assessment, materiality analysis, and sampling procedures
- Review energy consumption data, fuel records, logistics emissions, process emissions, etc.
- Identify material misstatements, non-conformities, and improvement areas
- Prepare structured verification reports and verification statements
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17029 principles (impartiality, competence, evidence-based approach)
- Participate in technical review processes
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical independence
Qualification & Experience Requirements
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy, Sustainability, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in GHG quantification, reporting, audit, or verification
- Working knowledge of: ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-3, ISO/IEC 17029, Experience in audits, data validation, and analytical review, Strong reporting and documentation capability
Preferred:- Lead Auditor / Lead Verifier training (ISO 14064 or equivalent)
- Familiarity with:
- GHG Protocol
- IPCC emission factors
- CDP disclosures
- BRSR reporting (India)
- SBTi frameworks
- Sector exposure in manufacturing, energy, transport, infrastructure, IT, BFSI, waste management, or similar industries
