Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a German Teacher based in Kochi. The German Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, interactive lessons that develop students’ abilities in reading, writing, listening, and speaking German using modern teaching methods and materials.
Daily responsibilities include preparing structured lesson plans, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and adapting teaching approaches to suit different learning styles and proficiency levels. The role also involves tutoring and mentoring learners, organizing classroom activities, maintaining accurate records of attendance and academic performance, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
The teacher is expected to support learners in becoming independent, confident, and effective users of the German language, while also preparing students for relevant language examinations where required.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent graduation in German, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
* Proficiency in German at B2 level or higher; C1 or above is preferred. Goethe-Zertifikat, ÖSD, or equivalent recognized certification is an advantage.
* Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in German language teaching, tutoring, or training, preferably in a formal or institutional educational setting.
* Strong skills in German language teaching and general teaching, with the ability to teach learners across different proficiency levels.
* Strong knowledge of lesson planning, classroom management, learner assessment, and individualized student support.
* Experience in training and facilitating group activities that develop practical language competencies.
* Strong command of English for effective classroom communication.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a learner-centred approach.
* Ability to use digital tools, interactive teaching methods, and modern learning resources to create engaging classroom experiences.
* Experience in exam preparation, particularly for recognized German language examinations such as ÖSD or Goethe, will be an added advantage.
