Job Title: Geospatial / GeoAI Analyst
Location: Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications, Amritapuri Campus, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam, Kerala
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial/GeoAI Analyst to work on dynamic risk-mapping platforms and real-time hazard-monitoring systems. This is a hands-on, production-oriented role requiring strong expertise in geospatial coding, SAR data processing, and GeoAI-driven analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain dynamic geospatial workflows for real-time hazard and risk mapping
- Process and analyze multi-source geospatial datasets (satellite, SAR, rainfall, terrain, etc.)
- Build GeoAI / ML models for geospatial pattern detection, prediction, and risk assessment
- Work with SAR datasets (Sentinel-1, ALOS, NISAR) for deformation, flood, or hazard analysis
- Design and deploy web-based geospatial dashboards and applications
- Automate geospatial pipelines using Python / R-based frameworks
- Integrate outputs into operational early warning systems and decision-support platforms
Mandatory Skills
- Strong programming skills in:
- Python (GeoPandas, Rasterio, GDAL, xarray) OR
- R (terra, sf, raster, stars)
- Hands-on experience with:
- ArcGIS & QGIS
- ArcGIS Online (Web App Builder, Dashboards, StoryMaps, etc.)
- Proven experience in:
- SAR data processing and analysis (Sentinel-1, InSAR preferred)
- Experience with:
- Google Earth Engine (GEE)
- Solid understanding of:
- Geospatial data processing pipelines
- Raster and vector data handling
- Spatial analysis and modeling
- Experience in GeoAI / Machine Learning / Deep Learning for geospatial applications
Qualifications- Master’s degree (M.Tech / MSc) in Geoinformatics / GIS / Remote Sensing / Geospatial Sciences or related fields from a reputed university/institution (preferred)
OR
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech / BE) in a relevant field with demonstrable professional experience in geospatial analysis and development
Experience Requirement- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience OR a strong project portfolio demonstrating:
- Real-world geospatial workflows
- Development of dashboards/web GIS applications
- SAR or remote sensing-based analysis
