Come join our team! As an Intern with NCHD’s WIC Program, you will work alongside a dedicated group of public health professionals supporting initiatives that promote the health and well-being of women, infants, and children in our community. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience, contribute to meaningful projects, and build practical skills while supporting important public health efforts in a collaborative and supportive environment.Position Duties
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with the North Central Health District WIC program's reporting efforts, with a focus on reducing the number of participants who are terminated from WIC prior to age five despite remaining eligible. Other responsibilities include supporting both ongoing initiatives and upcoming projects, contributing to current campaigns, and completing tasks as assigned by a supervisor. This is a temporary position with an anticipated duration of six months.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student (freshman through senior) at an accredited Georgia college or university and remain enrolled throughout the duration of the internship.

The DPH Commissioner and agency leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.
The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.
Employment Information
State of Georgia employees are subject to the rules of the State Personnel Board regarding salary.
DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
