We're looking for a GIS Consultant who can transform spatial data into intelligent, scalable applications. If you enjoy solving complex mapping challenges, working with modern GIS technologies, and building products that create real-world impact, we'd love to connect with you.
What You'll Do
* Design, develop, and maintain GIS-enabled web and mobile applications.
* Develop scalable GIS APIs and geospatial services.
* Build interactive map-based interfaces using modern mapping libraries.
* Create, edit, and manage polygons, spatial datasets, and geographic layers.
* Integrate GIS functionality into enterprise applications.
* Configure, publish, and manage map services using GeoServer or ArcGIS Server.
* Design and manage PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases for geospatial applications.
* Optimize spatial queries, indexing, and database performance.
* Deploy and maintain GIS applications on Microsoft Azure.
* Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems.
* Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and UI/UX teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
* Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance GIS applications for performance and scalability.
Required Skills
* 3–5 years of hands-on experience in GIS application development.
* Strong programming skills in one or more of the following:
* JavaScript / TypeScript
* Python
* .NET
* Java
* Hands-on experience with GIS platforms such as:
* ArcGIS
* QGIS
* GeoServer
* Strong experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, including spatial database management, spatial SQL, indexing, and optimization.
* Experience with mapping libraries:
* Leaflet
* Mapbox GL
* OpenLayers
* Good understanding of spatial data formats including GeoJSON, Shapefiles, WMS, WFS, and KML.
* Experience building and consuming REST APIs and Microservices.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud deployment.
* Experience with Git and Agile development practices.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with GDAL, GeoPandas, Shapely, Fiona, or other GIS Python libraries.
* Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience with satellite imagery, remote sensing, or spatial analytics.
* Understanding of AI/ML applications in GIS is a plus.
