About the role
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior ETL Data/DevOps Engineer with our client in the financial Industry located in Charlotte, NC and Irving, TX. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
Design and maintain enterprise-level ETL pipelines using Ab Initio and Teradata
Build scalable ETL workflows in PySpark for distributed computing platforms (Databricks, Hadoop, EMR, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)
Architect and implement hybrid data solutions bridging batch ETL and real-time processing
Lead modernization efforts transitioning from Teradata to data lake/cloud-native environments
Tune SQL queries and Spark jobs for performance and throughput
Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, Data Architects, and Analytics teams to build unified ingestion strategies
Automate code deployment and infrastructure management following DevOps best practices
Leverage scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control-M, Airflow, Argo, or Cloud Composer
Participate in Agile ceremonies, proactively contributing to team velocity and technical improvements
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of ETL development usingAb Initio
5+ years of deep SQL and performance optimization in Teradata
2+ years of PySpark development for data engineering use cases
Experience with distributed computing (Databricks, Hadoop, EMR, Google Cloud Platform Dataproc, etc.)
Strong Unix/Linux scripting skills
In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures
Proven ability to modernize legacy ETL systems
Strong communication skills and ability to work across modern and legacy teams
