Role Description: The General Surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, preoperative planning, operative procedures, and postoperative management. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting clinical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, recommending appropriate surgical interventions, and coordinating with anesthesiology, nursing, and other medical professionals to ensure safe and effective care. The role involves performing a variety of general surgical procedures, managing complications, documenting medical records accurately, and participating in case discussions and quality improvement activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gangapur, Rajasthan, requiring regular collaboration with the wider clinical team to support both in-hospital and home-based care pathways.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine, including patient assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning.
- Proficiency in General Surgery, with the ability to perform a broad range of elective and emergency surgical procedures.
- Exposure to or understanding of Orthopaedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery principles to manage relevant surgical cases and coordinate referrals.
- Basic knowledge of Ophthalmology to recognise surgical and medical eye conditions and collaborate with specialists as needed.
- Recognised medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialised training in General Surgery; valid medical registration with appropriate licensing body.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, with strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and adherence to clinical protocols and infection control standards.
- Willingness to participate in continuous professional development and adapt to evolving models of in-home and facility-based care.
