Job Post 1: Vitreo-Retina Surgeon (Consultant / Senior Consultant)

About The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Vitreo-Retina Surgeon to provide comprehensive medical and surgical management of diseases affecting the retina, vitreous, and posterior segment of the eye. In this role, you will deliver high-quality patient care through advanced diagnostic evaluations, laser procedures, intravitreal therapies, and complex vitreoretinal surgeries. You will also play an active part in clinical governance, quality initiatives, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Diagnose and manage medical and surgical retinal disorders, obtaining detailed ocular histories and performing posterior segment examinations.
- Conditions Managed: Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Detachment, Macular Hole, AMD, Retinal Vein/Artery Occlusions, Vitreous Hemorrhage, and Uveitis.
- Surgical Procedures: Perform vitrectomy procedures (Pars Plana Vitrectomy), retinal detachment surgeries, membrane peeling, macular hole surgery, silicone oil management, and endolaser photocoagulation.
- Laser & Intravitreal Therapy: Conduct and supervise pan-retinal photocoagulation (PRP), focal/grid lasers, and administer Anti-VEGF or steroid injections under strict aseptic protocols.
- Diagnostics: Interpret and correlate advanced investigations including OCT, OCTA, FFA, ICGA, and B-Scan Ultrasonography.
- Emergency Management: Provide prompt intervention for acute retinal tears, retinal detachments, endophthalmitis, and ocular trauma.
- Collaboration & Quality: Partner with multidisciplinary teams, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and maintain accurate Electronic Medical Records (EMR) adhering to NABH standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential Education: MBBS followed by MS/DNB in Ophthalmology.
- Specialization: Completed a dedicated Fellowship in Vitreo-Retina.
- Registration: Valid Medical Council Registration.
- Experience Tiers: Open to Junior Consultants (2–5 years), Consultants (5–10 years), and Senior Consultants (10+ years).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern vitrectomy systems (e.g., Constellation/EVA) and advanced posterior segment diagnostics.

About The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated General Ophthalmologist to provide comprehensive ophthalmic consultations, diagnoses, medical management, and surgical treatments for common eye conditions. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centric care while collaborating seamlessly with optometrists, sub-specialty consultants, and support staff to ensure outstanding clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outpatient Services: Conduct detailed ophthalmic exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and manage conditions such as cataracts, refractive errors, dry eye disease, conjunctivitis, glaucoma screenings, and diabetic eye screenings.
- Surgical Execution: Perform independent surgical procedures including Phacoemulsification, Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS), Pterygium excision, chalazion curettage, and minor lid/ocular surface procedures.
- Laser Treatments: Perform YAG laser capsulotomies and peripheral iridotomies where credentialed.
- Emergency Care: Evaluate and manage acute ophthalmic emergencies, such as chemical injuries, lid trauma, corneal foreign bodies, and sudden vision loss.
- Diagnostics: Review and interpret OCT, fundus photography, corneal topography, visual fields, biometry, and pachymetry.
- Surgical Safety & Governance: Adhere to the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, follow clinical audit protocols, comply with NABH standards, and maintain complete documentation within EMR systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential Education: MBBS followed by MS/DNB/DO in Ophthalmology.
- Registration: Valid Medical Council Registration.
- Preferred Experience: Fellowship in Cataract Surgery or Comprehensive Ophthalmology with strong Phacoemulsification skills. Prior experience in high-volume eye care setups or NABH-accredited hospitals is highly preferred.
- Experience Tiers: Consultant (3–7 years) or Senior Consultant (7+ years).
