Job DescriptionWorkplace Classification:Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary work location three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.The Role:The Technology Strategist for Vehicle Engineering & Quality IT (VEQ IT) is responsible for developing a cohesive technical strategy spanning across the following functions: Battery, Corporate Development, Design, GM Defense, Global Planning, Product Programs, Product Safety, Integration & Motorsports, Manufacturing & Product Engineering, Research & Development & Quality.The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced working with complex processes, applications and environments that have various technology stacks, vendors, and multiple business and IT owners. You will be directly responsible for developing, clearly communicating actionable strategies and action plans to deliver strong business value and outcomes. Expertise in establishing plans for emerging technologies as they formalize and lead technical transition and adoption of cloud technologies such as Azure and leveraging AI will be essential in transforming our VEQ IT landscape is required for this role.What You'll Do (Responsibilities):Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influences stakeholders without direct authority to lead the transformation of our VEQ IT landscape.Leverage strong analytical skills, passion and deep knowledge across disciplines and emerging technology to solve complex business and technology challenges.Self-motivated with a strategic mindset, capable of independent action, holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and modeling GM behaviors.Provide thought leadership and make informed technology decisions.Document software strategy and ensure compliance with GM and industry standards.Develop and present high-quality presentations to executive leadership.Serve as a hands-on leader driving the implementation of new technologies, tools and processes.What You'll Need (Required Qualifications):Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience10+ years of relevant experience in large organizations, business and technical strategy, management consulting, preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, and technology sectors10+ years of experience successfully developing and implementing technology strategies that drive business transformation or growth5+ years of experience in migrations to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP including complex business and data requirementsThis position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis
