Role Description The General Manager: TL/ SS will oversee transmission line and substation projects, ensuring end-to-end management from planning and design through execution, testing, and commissioning. This full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad includes leading project teams, coordinating with internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors, and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The role involves reviewing technical designs and project plans, resolving execution challenges, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements. The General Manager will be responsible for resource planning, performance monitoring, risk mitigation, and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. The position also includes preparing progress reports, supporting business development with technical inputs, and fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- The candidate should possess strong expertise in transmission lines (TL) and substations (SS), including design review, construction oversight, testing, and commissioning of EHV/HV systems.
- The candidate should possess skills in project management, planning, scheduling, risk management, and cost control for large-scale EPC power infrastructure projects.
- The candidate should possess skills in team leadership, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.
- The candidate should possess knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, protection and control, SCADA integration, and applicable industry standards and regulations.
- The candidate should possess the ability to enforce safety practices, quality assurance processes, and compliance with environmental and statutory requirements.
- The candidate should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with proficiency in using project management and MS Office tools.
- The candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and client interactions.
- Relevant qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with significant experience in TL/SS EPC projects; prior experience at a senior management level in the power transmission sector is highly desirable.
