The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operations of the hotel. This includes ensuring profitability, maintaining high guest satisfaction, managing staff, and upholding brand standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Operational Management- Oversee all hotel departments: Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing.
- Ensure smooth daily operations and high service standards.
- Monitor occupancy rates, room inventory, and service efficiency.
2. Financial Performance- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Maximize revenue through pricing strategies and promotions.
- Control costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Analyze KPIs such as RevPAR, ADR, and GOP.
3. Guest Experience- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and handle escalated complaints.
- Maintain high ratings on platforms like TripAdvisor and Google.
- Implement service improvement initiatives.
4. Team Leadership & HR- Recruit, train, and supervise department heads and staff.
- Foster a positive work culture and high employee engagement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and ensure staff development.
5. Sales & Marketing Oversight- Collaborate with sales teams to drive occupancy and events.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, and event planners.
- Support branding, promotions, and digital presence.
6. Compliance & Safety- Ensure compliance with local laws, health regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain licenses and certifications.
- Implement risk management and emergency procedures.
7. Strategic Planning- Develop long-term business strategies for growth and competitiveness.
- Identify market trends and opportunities in the Kolhapur hospitality sector.
