Role Overview:
The General Manager – Marketing & Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth through advertising sales, client acquisition, relationship management, and strategic business development. The role involves pitching advertising opportunities to potential clients, managing existing accounts, ensuring timely renewals of Release Orders (ROs), and maintaining long-term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate advertising revenue through active client acquisition and business development.
- Pitch advertising opportunities, brand collaborations, sponsorships, and marketing solutions to prospective clients.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and potential advertisers.
- Handle end-to-end client servicing, including meetings, negotiations, proposals, follow-ups, and closures.
- Ensure timely renewal of Release Orders (ROs), advertising contracts, and ongoing campaigns.
- Coordinate with editorial, design, production, and accounts teams for smooth execution of client requirements.
- Prepare sales plans, revenue forecasts, and business development strategies.
- Identify new market opportunities, sectors, and brands for potential partnerships.
- Monitor advertising targets and ensure achievement of monthly and annual revenue goals.
- Maintain records of client communications, contracts, payments, and campaign deliverables.
- Represent the organization in business meetings, networking events, and industry interactions.
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience in advertising sales, media sales, marketing, or client servicing.
- Ability to build and maintain professional client relationships.
- Strong understanding of sales strategy and revenue generation.
- Target-oriented with excellent follow-up and closing abilities.
- Good organizational and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in email communication, proposal drafting, and client management.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in media, publishing, advertising, PR, or marketing industries preferred.
- Prior experience handling corporate clients, government advertising, or brand partnerships is an advantage.
