GENERAL MANAGER – OPERATIONS
Location: Dhulagarh, West Bengal
CTC: Up to ₹45 LPA
Industry: Food Manufacturing (Biscuits / Bakery / Snacks / FMCG)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced manufacturing leader to oversee operations across multiple food manufacturing facilities. The role will be responsible for driving production excellence, productivity improvement, cost optimization, quality compliance, plant performance, and operational profitability.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of leading multiple manufacturing plants within the food industry and successfully driving operational excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across multiple production facilities.
• Ensure achievement of production targets, capacity utilization, quality standards, and customer service requirements.
• Drive productivity improvement, waste reduction, cost optimization, and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
• Lead Plant Heads and cross-functional teams across Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.
• Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, and Best Manufacturing Practices.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory, and Statutory requirements including FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards.
• Drive automation, modernization, and technology enhancement initiatives across manufacturing units.
• Monitor plant performance through KPIs, operational reviews, and business scorecards.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, utilities, and resources across all plants.
• Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability, performance, and employee engagement.
• Partner with leadership teams to support business growth, expansion projects, and manufacturing strategy.
Candidate Profile
• 15+ years of experience in Food Manufacturing, Biscuits, Bakery, Snacks, or FMCG Manufacturing.
• Mandatory experience managing multiple manufacturing plants or manufacturing clusters.
• Proven experience leading large manufacturing teams and Plant Heads.
• Strong expertise in Production, Manufacturing Operations, Operational Excellence, and Cost Management.
• Hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, OEE Improvement, Productivity Enhancement, and Waste Reduction.
• Strong understanding of Food Safety, Quality Systems, Compliance, and Manufacturing Best Practices.
• Experience handling P&L responsibilities and driving profitability will be preferred.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities.
