About Yes Chef
Yes Chef is pioneering a new standard for school cafeterias. We focus on nutritional excellence and knowledge empowerment for children (Ages 2 to 18) and the school ecosystem. We partner with schools to design, set up, and operate state-of-the-art cafeterias while integrating nutrition into the student curriculum.
Note: The Founder successfully runs a nationwide chain of schools for the last two decades including top brands like Delhi Public Schools.
Role Summary
The General Manager (GM) will serve as the primary operational engine driving Yes Chef’s daily business and expansion. Reporting directly to the Founder, this role acts as the central coordinating force for all internal teams and external stakeholders. The GM will ensure seamless project execution, cross-functional alignment, and strict adherence to standard operating procedures to accelerate company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Operational Planning & Execution
- SOP Management: Implement, monitor, and optimize cross-functional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for kitchen setup and daily cafeteria management.
- Founder Alignment: Manage operational workflows to filter, prioritize, and escalate high-impact decisions and communications to the Founder.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve daily operational bottlenecks, logistical risks, and supply chain issues.
2) Stakeholder Alignment & Communication
- Internal Rhythm: Maintain internal communication structures (task trackers, team updates, operational reporting) to keep all departments aligned.
- External Relations: Serve as a dependable point of contact for key school administrators and external vendors.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed progress reports, presentations, and documentation regarding operational metrics for leadership updates.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Embed Yes Chef’s core values—nutritional excellence and student empowerment—into all daily operations.
3) Growth Support & Special Projects
- Business Development: Conduct market research to identify, profile, and initiate contact with potential new school partners.
- Project Management: Lead the execution of high-priority special projects, such as deploying new kitchen technologies or piloting updated curriculum modules.
- Team Scaling: Assist the Founder in onboarding new hires and scaling operational teams at new school sites as the business grows.
4) Qualifications & Experience
- Education: MBA graduate or equivalent post-graduate degree is preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in Operations, Strategy, or Business Development.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior understanding of the Food & Beverage (F&B) or catering space is a strong advantage.
- Skills: Strong project management, clear communication, and a highly organized approach to tracking tasks.
5) Job Location & Travel
- Base Location: Delhi Public School Panvel (Navi Mumbai).
- Travel: Frequent travel between multiple school sites and regional cities is required as the business demands.
