Our client is looking for an experienced and result-oriented General Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of multiple construction projects across our portfolio.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in construction execution, structural coordination, site management, and team leadership, with the ability to deliver projects efficiently in challenging environments such as Nigeria and similar markets.
Job Location: Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete project lifecycle from planning, design coordination, procurement support, mobilization, execution, and final handover
- Supervise site activities and ensure high-quality execution across structural, finishing, and MEP/service installations
- Review and oversee structural design work to ensure constructability, efficiency, and alignment with site conditions
- Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and project teams for smooth execution
- Monitor construction progress, reduce delays, minimize rework, and improve productivity
- Manage site engineers, supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and workforce teams
- Enforce discipline, safety, and operational efficiency on-site
- Plan resources and timelines to achieve project milestones and delivery targets
- Act as the primary technical and managerial lead for assigned projects
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 15–20 years of experience in residential, commercial, or infrastructure construction projects
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering, construction methodologies, structural detailing, and site troubleshooting
- Proven experience in reviewing and supervising structural design works including reinforcement detailing, load paths, and constructability
- Prior experience as Senior Site Engineer, Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Technical Manager handling full-cycle project execution
- Strong leadership experience managing teams in low-skill labor environments, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Technology
- Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, manpower, and execution performance
- Good communication and coordination skills in English
- Experience in precast construction will be an added advantage
- Experience working in challenging or remote project environments is preferred
