Job Summary:
Matrix Geo Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager – Business Development to lead and scale the company’s sales function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing sales strategies, and building a high-performing sales team across key sectors such as GIS, Railways, Roads, and Water infrastructure. This role requires a strong leader who can identify new market opportunities, manage complex client relationships, and lead high-value deal closures. The candidate should have a deep understanding of the engineering consultancy domain and a proven track record in business development and sales leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth
Lead, mentor, and build a strong sales team across multiple sectors
Identify new business opportunities and expand into new markets
Manage end-to-end sales cycle including lead generation, client meetings, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government bodies, and industry partners
Drive strategic planning, forecasting, and performance tracking using KPIs
Provide complete visibility of the sales pipeline and ensure timely reporting to leadership
Collaborate with execution, technical, and marketing teams for seamless project delivery and client satisfaction
Personally engage in closing high-value and strategic deals
Develop and implement lead generation strategies (both inbound and outbound)
Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and industry events across India Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / related field or MBA (Sales/Marketing)
Minimum 10+ years of experience in Business Development/Sales in GIS, Infrastructure, or Engineering Consultancy domain Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities
Strategic thinking and sales planning expertise
Proven ability to generate leads and convert them into business
Experience in sales forecasting, analytics, and KPI management
Ability to handle complex deals and competitive market scenarios
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Willingness to travel Pan India for business development
Preferred Profile:
Experience in handling government and large enterprise clients
Strong industry network in geospatial/infrastructure sectors
Age preference: 35+ (preferred, not mandatory)
