Job details:
To support Adani Power Limited's business interests in Bhutan by managing government relations, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and business development activities. The incumbent will act as the key in-country representative for day-to-day coordination with government agencies, DGPC, GMC, project partners, consultants, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth progression of hydropower projects and identify future business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
A. Government & Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain working relationships with the Royal Government of Bhutan, DGPC, GMC, regulatory authorities, and local stakeholders.
- Support approvals, permits, clearances, and project-related government interactions.
- Track policy, regulatory, and administrative developments impacting Adani's business interests.
- Coordinate meetings, follow-up actions, and stakeholder communications.
- Escalate key issues and opportunities to Head Office in a timely manner.
B. Business Development Support
- Identify new hydropower, renewable energy, and infrastructure opportunities in Bhutan.
- Support preliminary assessments, due diligence, market intelligence, and strategic evaluations.
- Assist in developing relationships with potential partners, investors, and government entities.
- Monitor developments related to GMC and other strategic initiatives.
C. Project Coordination & Monitoring
- Coordinate with DGPC, JV entities, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, approvals, and key risks.
- Facilitate issue resolution and stakeholder alignment to ensure timely project execution.
- Conduct periodic site visits and provide progress reports to management.
- Prepare MIS reports, project dashboards, and status updates.
D. Commercial & Risk Management
- Support budget preparation and monitoring of in-country activities.
- Identify project and regulatory risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Maintain project documentation, stakeholder records, and action trackers.
- Support negotiations, commercial discussions, and contract administration activities, as required.
Qualification & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline.
- Engineering qualification with MBA or Postgraduate qualification preferred.
Experience
- 12-18 years of experience in infrastructure, power, hydropower, renewable energy, or related sectors.
- Experience in government liaison, stakeholder management, project coordination, and business development.
- Exposure to hydropower projects or cross-border infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Experience working with government agencies, public sector entities, or international stakeholders.

- Ability to operate independently in an international/cross-border environment.
