COMPANY & ROLE DESCRIPTION
Sub Zero Insulation Tech is India's leading manufacturer of insulated and refrigerated truck bodies, producing approximately 1,500 units annually from its plant in Chakan, Pune. With OEM approvals from Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, VECV, Isuzu, and Mahindra, and active growth initiatives across new geographies and international partnerships, the company is at an inflection point that demands robust, self-sustaining operational leadership. The company has a collaboration/joint venture with a global leader in the field, Schmitz Cargobull, headquartered in Germany.
The General Manager – Operations will be the senior-most leader on the ground at the Chakan plant, responsible for end-to-end manufacturing, quality, people, and compliance. This role is designed for a battle-tested operations leader who can instil discipline, build second-line leadership, and run the plant independently.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL :
- Graduate in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering (BE / B.Tech) or equivalent technical diploma with commensurate experience.
- 15–20 years of total manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a General Manager or Senior Plant Manager role.
- Demonstrated experience in truck body manufacturing, refrigerated / insulated panels, trailer manufacturing, or closely adjacent heavy fabrication industries.
- Working knowledge of PU foam insulation systems, panel manufacturing, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Proven track record of running a plant of 200+ workers independently with P&L accountability.
- Strong understanding of OEM vendor approval and audit processes (Tata, Ashok Leyland, VECV, or equivalent).
PREFERRED
- Experience with international manufacturing environments (Gulf, Europe, or SEA) — understanding of global quality benchmarks.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.
- Familiarity with cold chain logistics or reefer unit integration (Carrier Transicold, Thermo King, or similar).
- Experience working with or alongside European OEM standards is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and digital reporting tools (Power BI or equivalent).
