Role Description The General Manager – Tendering will lead and oversee the end-to-end tendering process for large infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and compliant bid submissions. This full-time, on-site role is based in the Greater Kolkata Area and involves coordinating with technical, commercial, legal, and project teams to prepare high-quality tender documents and proposals. Daily responsibilities include analyzing tender requirements, preparing cost estimates and bid strategies, reviewing contract terms, and managing pre-bid queries and clarifications. The role also involves maintaining relationships with clients, consultants, and partners, monitoring market opportunities, and supporting negotiations to secure contracts aligned with the company’s business goals. The General Manager – Tendering will mentor and guide the tendering team, implement process improvements, and ensure adherence to organizational standards and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in tender management, bid preparation, contract review, and proposal development for infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in project costing, budgeting, and commercial analysis, including risk assessment and pricing strategies.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, design, and project execution teams to align technical solutions with tender requirements.
- Ability to interpret and work within PPP, BOOT, and other public infrastructure contracting frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, mentoring, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with attention to detail and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or a related field; an MBA or equivalent management qualification is an advantage.
- Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in tendering or contracts within water, power, environment, or infrastructure sectors.
