Job Description
Position Title: General Manager – Operations
Location: Wagle Estate, Thane
Reporting To: Founder & Principal Designer
Position Overview
Trance Interiors is seeking a highly capable and result-oriented General Manager – Operations to take ownership of overall business operations, performance monitoring, and execution excellence.
This role will act as a central leadership anchor, ensuring smooth coordination across all departments, driving accountability, and supporting business growth. The individual will work closely with the Founder & Principal Designer and will be responsible for independently managing day-to-day operations in their absence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth and Strategic Execution
● Support and execute business expansion strategies across target segments
● Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and growth areas
● Contribute to long-term strategic planning and execution
2. Department Performance Management
● Monitor performance of all departments including Design, Projects, CRM, Purchase, and Accounts
● Conduct regular performance reviews and track key performance indicators
● Ensure alignment of departmental activities with overall business goals
3. Project Oversight and Execution Control
● Review high-level progress of ongoing projects across sites
● Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
● Address critical project issues and ensure timely resolution
4. Vendor and Contractor Management
● Monitor performance of vendors, contractors, and site teams
● Ensure quality standards, cost efficiency, and timely delivery
● Review and finalize vendor contracts and agreements
5. Financial Planning and Budget Control
● Work closely with the Accounts team for budgeting and cost monitoring
● Track project-wise profitability and overall financial performance
● Ensure financial discipline and cost optimization across operations
6. ERP, Systems, and Reporting
● Ensure effective use of ERP systems across all departments
● Review MIS reports, dashboards, and operational data
● Drive process improvements and system efficiency
7. Brand Positioning and Market Development
● Support brand development initiatives aligned with company positioning
● Strengthen the company’s positioning as a Healthcare Environment Transformation Partner
● Contribute to strategic marketing and business development efforts
8. Business Networking and Partnerships
● Build relationships with doctors, hospital owners, consultants, and key stakeholders
● Identify and develop strategic partnerships and alliances
9. Team Leadership and Culture Development
● Lead and guide team members across departments
● Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and performance
● Ensure effective communication and coordination between teams
10. Governance, Policies, and Compliance
● Ensure adherence to company policies, processes, and standard operating procedures
● Strengthen internal controls and compliance mechanisms
11. Quality, Timeline, and Client Satisfaction
● Monitor quality standards across all projects
● Ensure timely project delivery and high levels of client satisfaction
● Track client feedback and implement improvements
12. Conflict Resolution and Decision Making
● Resolve inter-departmental issues and conflicts effectively
● Take timely and appropriate decisions to ensure smooth business operations
Qualifications and Experience
● Graduate or Postgraduate degree (MBA preferred)
● 8 to 15 years of experience in operations, project management, or business leadership roles
● Preferred industry experience in Interior Contracting, Construction, Infrastructure, or Healthcare Projects
