About The Role
PIF is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Gen AI Engineer / AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI-powered systems that enhance organizational research capabilities, streamline knowledge management, and improve operational efficiency. This role involves working with cutting-edge large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and intelligent automation tools to create scalable AI solutions. The engineer will collaborate closely with research, data, and program teams to develop applications that facilitate data-driven decision-making and organizational productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI development, a passion for innovation, and the ability to translate complex AI concepts into practical solutions that align with PIF’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in AI engineering, machine learning, or advanced data systems development is essential. Demonstrated experience in building applications utilizing large language models or generative AI technologies is highly preferred. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with backend development frameworks and deploying scalable AI systems. Additionally, familiarity with AI orchestration tools, vector databases, and API integrations will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- AI System Development
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications leveraging LLMs and RAG architectures to support organizational needs.
- Create enterprise-grade AI assistants and chatbots to facilitate research, knowledge management, and internal workflows.
- Build robust backend services and APIs that underpin AI-driven tools and applications, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Data & Knowledge Systems
- Develop comprehensive document ingestion pipelines, including data extraction, chunking, metadata tagging, and embedding generation.
- Integrate vector databases and semantic search tools to enable efficient retrieval of organizational knowledge assets.
- Implement hybrid retrieval strategies to optimize information discovery across diverse datasets and documents.
- Automation & Intelligent Workflows
- Develop agent-based workflows and automation tools that support task execution, reasoning, and seamless system integration.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate AI solutions with existing systems, databases, and collaboration platforms.
- Support the development of AI-driven tools aimed at enhancing research productivity and organizational processes.
- Deployment, Monitoring & Governance
- Deploy scalable AI systems while ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.
- Establish evaluation frameworks, monitoring systems, and feedback mechanisms for continuous AI model improvement.
- Ensure compliance with organizational data governance policies and security standards to protect sensitive information.
- Collaboration & Innovation
- Work closely with research, program, and data teams to identify new opportunities for AI integration and innovation.
- Contribute to experimentation with emerging AI technologies and pilot innovative applications within the organization.
- Assist in capacity building by supporting teams in understanding and adopting AI-powered tools effectively.
