Gen AI Compositor — Studio 51
The Gen AI Comper plays a central role within Studio 51’s Generative AI team, shaping how cutting-edge AI tools are integrated into creative production. This role focuses on designing, refining, and scaling intuitive workflows that enable artists and technologists to rapidly explore, prototype, and deliver high-quality generative content.
Working primarily with ComfyUI and emerging GenAI ecosystems, you’ll help define how AI is practically applied across Studio 51’s projects — bridging experimentation, production, and innovation.
You’ll collaborate closely with creative, technical, and research teams to build workflows that are flexible, efficient, and production-ready, while supporting a culture of exploration and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain streamlined workflows for deploying audiovisual Generative AI models, primarily using ComfyUI
- Explore, evaluate, and integrate new GenAI tools from both open- and closed-source ecosystems
- Partner with creative, technical, and research teams to prototype and refine workflows that balance performance with creative freedom
- Experiment with new models, tools, and approaches to evolve Studio 51’s AI capabilities
- Develop reusable, templated workflows tailored to different creative and production needs
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps to scale workflows into robust, cross-platform solutions
- Contribute to the development and optimisation of Studio 51’s custom ComfyUI environment
- Assess and recommend new platforms or deployment strategies for generative models
- Support and train artists and creatives in using ComfyUI and AI-driven workflows, helping grow AI fluency across the studio
What We’re Looking For
- Strong expertise in ComfyUI, including building custom workflows, nodes, and pipelines using Python and JavaScript
- Experience deploying and maintaining custom ComfyUI environments
- Proven ability to integrate AI tools into production-ready pipelines
- Solid understanding of model deployment platforms and emerging GenAI tooling
- Hands-on experience setting up environments for inference and training (Conda, Git, dependency management)
- Proficiency in Python/PyTorch and confidence working with and extending existing codebases
- Experience collaborating across creative and technical disciplines
- Practical experience testing and working with photoreal generative models, particularly for video or time-based outputs
- Active engagement with the broader Generative AI landscape
- Ability to guide and onboard others in AI workflows and tools
Bonus Points
- Background in VFX, animation, creative technology, or technical art
- Experience in pipeline development or R&D environments
- Familiarity with tools such as Runway, Kling, Lumalabs, or similar AI platforms
- Awareness of ethical and responsible AI practices in production
