Role Description The Gemology Faculty will work full time on-site at Safa Group Of Companies in Kerala, India. This role involves delivering classroom and practical instruction in gemology, including gemstone identification, grading, and valuation. The faculty member will prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments aligned with institutional standards and industry practices. Day-to-day tasks include mentoring learners, conducting lab sessions with gemological instruments, evaluating student performance, and maintaining accurate academic records. The role also includes staying updated on developments in gemology, participating in curriculum development, and collaborating with colleagues to support academic and institutional initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of gemology, including gemstone classification, identification techniques, and grading standards.
- Experience in classroom teaching or training, with the ability to design clear lesson plans and deliver engaging instruction.
- Proficiency in using gemological tools and equipment (e.g., microscopes, refractometers, spectroscopes) in a lab setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Ability to guide and mentor learners, provide constructive feedback, and manage classroom dynamics professionally.
- Attention to detail, strong observational skills, and a high level of accuracy in practical and theoretical work.
- Comfort working in an on-site academic or training environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant certification or diploma in Gemology; a degree in a related field or prior industry experience in gemstones or jewelry is an advantage.
