BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the daily operations of the Underwriting and Dealer Service Department. Maintain workflows and overall production to ensure the prompt delivery of credit decisions to the lending staff and dealerships while focusing on safety and soundness. Provides oversight of indirect lending operations and supports business development initiatives related to dealer relationships and lending growth. Provides oversight of the funding process to ensure dealer partners are serviced effectively and contracts are funded in accordance with credit union standards and established time frames. Ensure that lending regulations and policies and procedures are followed.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Responsible for the continued growth of the indirect portfolio ensuring safety and soundness while maintaining a healthy market share for the credit union.  Ensures that the credit unions’ strategic initiatives are achieved through sound underwriting with minimal risk to the credit union.
Monitors and oversees the overall performance of the decision engine to ensure system integrity and effective operation. Evaluates performance trends and outcomes and recommends enhancements aligned with the credit unions risk tolerance and strategic objectives.
Monitors the performance of all operating systems. Coordinates and reports problems with the technical or project team.
Monitors the workflows and maintains strategic initiatives in the Underwriting and Dealer Service department to ensure optimum service to the dealerships and merchants as well as the direct lending channels. 
Responsible for the supervision of the department’s staff to include schedules, time reports, performance appraisals and department communication meetings.
Participates as a member of the credit union’s Loan Review Committee for both Consumer Lending and Mortgage Underwriting.  Participates as a member of the credit unions Charge off Review Committee. 
Coaches, mentors and trains the department employees on the day-to-day procedures and functions of lending including training of the loan origination system. Assists employees with difficult transactions or situations. 
Performs any rate change or term adjustment that impacts indirect products and will complete all processes associated with these changes.
Assists with the review and updating of loan policies and procedures.
Assures that the Dealer Agreement and other dealer documents are complete and up to date and that they meet the necessary State and Federal regulatory requirements.
Maintains a solid working relationship with the dealers and merchants in order to increase the indirect lending portfolio.  Attends dealer functions as required to promote the credit union. 
Visits automobile dealerships and other retail market accounts to promote GECU’s lending and establish goodwill among the area dealerships
Ensure compliance on a day to day basis within the areas of your responsibility and ensure that employees will receive the necessary training to comply with applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML) addressing Money Laundering and the Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), which apply specifically to their job.
Other duties may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the department and the credit union.
