We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer – Data & Anaplan to design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration pipelines supporting Anaplan and enterprise data platforms.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between core enterprise data infrastructure (cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines) and specialized Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) planning models in Anaplan. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Anaplan Model Builders, Data Architects, and BI teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions for planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytics.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Development & Anaplan Integrations
- Data Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain automated, scalable ETL/ELT data integration pipelines supporting Anaplan and enterprise data platforms.
- Enterprise Integrations: Develop robust inbound and outbound data integrations between Anaplan and key enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, Finance, Supply Chain, and HR platforms.
- Anaplan Tooling: Utilize Anaplan integration mechanisms such as Anaplan Connect, CloudWorks, REST APIs, and Anaplan Integration APIs to automate data transfers.
- Data Transformation: Extract data from enterprise sources and transform it into structured formats aligned with Anaplan model dimensions, staging modules, and line items.
Automation, Monitoring & Data Quality
- Process Automation: Automate data loads, exports, imports, reconciliations, and validation workflows using Python, SQL, and orchestration platforms.
- Data Reconciliation: Build automated data quality checks, audit logging, and reconciliation mechanisms to guarantee data accuracy between source systems and Anaplan models.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Investigate pipeline failures, resolve data discrepancies, and optimize data flows for peak performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Observability: Implement monitoring and alerting frameworks for production integrations and critical data flows.
Collaboration & Best Practices
- Cross-Functional Partnering: Work directly with Anaplan Model Builders, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Finance/Supply Chain stakeholders to capture integration requirements.
- Engineering Standards: Build reusable integration frameworks, establish technical documentation (mappings, data flows, dependencies), and enforce DevOps/CI/CD practices.
- Mentorship: Participate in code reviews, release management, production support, and mentor junior data engineering team members.
🛠️ Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 6–10 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT development, and Enterprise Data Integration.
- Anaplan Integration Expertise: Proven experience with Anaplan Connect, Anaplan REST APIs, and native import/export action automation.
- Core Tech Stack:
- SQL & Relational Databases: Advanced SQL expertise for complex data querying, aggregation, and transformation.
- Python: Strong hands-on proficiency in Python for data processing, custom API integrations, and scripting.
- Integrations: Deep understanding of REST APIs, JSON, CSV, XML, data exchange mechanisms, and web service authentication.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Data Governance: Strong experience with data validation, source-to-target reconciliation, and operational error handling.
🌟 Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Anaplan CloudWorks & Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with Anaplan CloudWorks, Anaplan Integration APIs, and familiarity with Anaplan Model Building concepts.
- Cloud Data Warehouses: Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Orchestration & Transformation: Proficiency with Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer, dbt, or modern pipeline orchestration tools.
- Enterprise Middleware / ETL: Exposure to enterprise tools such as Informatica (HyperConnect), Talend, Fivetran, MuleSoft, or Dell Boomi.
