Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, automation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure across Azure and GCP environments. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to drive scalable, secure, and reliable DevOps practices across the organization.
This role requires hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, database administration, and observability platforms, along with the ability to mentor engineering teams and influence platform strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Lead the architecture, deployment, and management of scalable infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-native environments.
- Optimize compute, networking, storage, IAM, and cloud governance practices.
DevOps & CI/CD Automation
- Architect, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms.
- Automate build, deployment, rollback, and release management processes.
- Drive DevOps best practices across development and operations teams.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, ARM Templates, Deployment Manager, and Ansible.
- Standardize infrastructure provisioning and configuration management across environments.
- Ensure infrastructure consistency, repeatability, and compliance.
Containerization & Orchestration
- Lead adoption and management of Docker and Kubernetes platforms.
- Manage container orchestration, scaling, service discovery, and cluster reliability.
- Implement deployment strategies including blue-green and rolling deployments.
Database Administration
- Manage and optimize Cosmos DB and MySQL databases for performance, scalability, backup, and recovery.
- Monitor database health, tuning, replication, and security configurations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on database architecture and optimization.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop automation scripts using Bash, Shell, Python, and PowerShell.
- Automate operational tasks, monitoring, deployment workflows, and infrastructure maintenance.
Monitoring, Reliability & Security
- Implement and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, Splunk, or similar tools.
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and performance optimization initiatives.
- Ensure infrastructure security, vulnerability management, patching, and compliance standards.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide DevOps engineers and platform teams.
- Establish engineering standards, operational best practices, and documentation processes.
- Collaborate with development, QA, security, and product teams to align platform capabilities with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering,
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience leading DevOps or platform engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in Azure and GCP services, including computer, networking, storage, IAM, and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with Cosmos DB and MySQL administration.
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Bash, Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
- Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, and applications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, or DevOps technologies.
- Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
- Knowledge of security best practices, DevSecOps, and compliance frameworks.
- Exposure to high-scale distributed systems and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Experience implementing SRE practices and reliability engineering principles.
