Role OverviewWe are seeking a visionary and execution-focused
GCP Data Engineering Manager with
9 to 12 years of overall experience to lead our high-performing data engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, overseeing the design, scaling, and delivery of our enterprise cloud data platform. You will manage a team of talented data engineers, drive architectural decisions utilizing
GCP, SQL, Python, Airflow, and PySpark, and ensure the delivery of secure, highly reliable data solutions.
Required Technical Skills & QualificationsCore Experience & Management Requirements:
- 9 to 12 years of total experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years managing engineering teams or leading large-scale technical projects.
- Proven track record of managing agile development processes (Scrum/Kanban) and setting sprint priorities.
GCP & Data Stack Expertise:
- Cloud Architecture: Deep expertise in the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, specifically BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and IAM.
- Data Processing: Strong foundational understanding of Python, PySpark, and Apache Airflow/Composer to effectively evaluate code quality and architecture choices made by the team.
Soft Skills & Leadership Attributes
- Stakeholder Alignment: Ability to communicate complex architectural constraints and data timelines to non-technical business partners.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and long-term planning capabilities to align technology investments with business objectives.
- Conflict Resolution: Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and situational management skills under tight timelines.
