Company Description Muthoot Healthcare is a key division of The Muthoot Group, with its roots in Kozhenchery in Central Travancore, Kerala, dating back to 1988. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Gastroenterologist role based at Muthoot Medical Centre in Kozhenchery. The Gastroenterologist will provide outpatient and inpatient consultations, diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions, and perform endoscopic procedures as clinically indicated. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, planning and overseeing treatment, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, including oncology, surgery, and radiology. The role also involves participation in clinical meetings, adherence to evidence-based protocols, documentation of clinical care in line with institutional standards, and contribution to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Teaching and mentoring of medical, nursing, and allied health trainees within the education unit may be part of the responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong clinical expertise in Gastroenterology and related areas of internal Medicine.
- Candidates should possess hands-on skills in Endoscopy, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and experience with Capsule Endoscopy.
- Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in Hepatology, including the management of acute and chronic liver diseases.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with MD or equivalent in Internal Medicine and DM/DNB (Gastroenterology) or equivalent specialty training.
- Valid medical registration with relevant national or state medical council and compliance with professional and ethical standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, with strong communication, clinical decision-making, and patient counseling skills.
- Experience in a multi-speciality hospital setting and familiarity with evidence-based guidelines and quality assurance practices is beneficial.
- Interest in teaching, mentoring, and participating in clinical audits or research activities within a teaching hospital environment is an advantage.
