Job Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the Learning Support Services administrator, is primarily responsible for leadership and coordination of the district’s Special Education Programs, which includes child find, identification, assessment, placement and instructional program. Represents the district in litigation discussions and participates in IEP meetings, informal conferences mediations and due process hearings to resolve issues regarding special education students.
Required Documents
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Elementary or Secondary Teaching Credential
Valid Administrative Credential
Minimum of five years successful teaching
Valid California Driver’s License
Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and programs pertaining to Special Education Programs
Three or more years of administrative and management experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master Degree or equivalent
Valid Special Education credential, pupil services credential, or a school psychologist authorization
Advanced training and related experience in the education of individuals with exceptional needs
Bilingual in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Cantonese or Vietnamese
Knowledge of California Education Code related to Special related to Special Education
Knowledge of Special Education programs, theory, approaches and practices

Salary Info
Master Degree Stipend: $3690.73. Doctorate Degree Stipend: $7381.48. (includes Master Degree) Mileage Rate: $125.00 per month
