At Gardiner, our Fire Alarm Technician plays an important role in keeping our customers and their spaces safe—while being part of a team that supports each other and takes pride in the work we do.
Essential Functions include the following: other duties may be assigned:
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems to support proper operation and alignment with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and system testing, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions
- Provide on-site guidance to customers on system operation and life safety best practices
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams while serving as a technical resource
- Partner with project managers and internal teams to support inspections, upgrades, and system modifications
- Accurately document service activities, test results, and corrective actions in line with company expectations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school coursework in electronics, fire protection, or a related field is a plus
- 4 + years of experience
- Extensive knowledge of programming
- Willingness to obtain the appropriate State of Ohio fire alarm license
- NICET or other relevant certifications are highly desirable
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards, local codes, and manufacturer specifications
- Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to read schematics, troubleshoot, and maintain systems
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
