Job Description – Garden Supervisor
Department: Gardening Department
Organization: Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, Pune
Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Experience: 5–7 Years
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day maintenance of gardens, lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and landscaped areas across the campus.
- Plan and monitor seasonal plantation, landscaping, pruning, mowing, and irrigation activities.
- Ensure proper watering, fertilization, pest control, and disease management of plants.
- Supervise and allocate work to gardeners and other support staff, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics in all green areas.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of plants, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, gardening tools, and equipment.
- Maintain inventory records of gardening materials and equipment.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of gardening machinery and tools.
- Prepare maintenance schedules and submit periodic reports on gardening activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
- Assist in planning and executing landscaping projects, campus beautification initiatives, and special events.
- Promote sustainable gardening practices, including composting, organic gardening, and waste management.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
Experience
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in landscape maintenance, horticulture, or garden supervision.
- Experience in educational institutions, universities, large campuses, hotels, hospitals, or corporate facilities will be preferred.
