We are looking for a passionate Game Level Designer with 2-5 years of experience to help
shape the core player experience of our open-world survival adventure. You will design
engaging gameplay systems, objectives, and levels that balance fun, challenge, and storytelling.
This role requires creativity, systems thinking, and the ability to translate design concepts into
playable, polished gameplay experiences within Unreal Engine. You’ll collaborate closely
with environment artists, programmers, and narrative designers to create levels that feel both
immersive and intuitive.
Key Responsibilities
● Design and implement gameplay systems, mechanics, and objectives aligned with
the creative vision.
● Create level layouts, flow, and pacing that balance exploration, challenge, and
narrative.
● Collaborate with the environment and prop artists to build playable spaces that guide
players naturally.
● Define objectives, rewards, and progression systems to enhance player motivation.
● Work with programmers to prototype and refine gameplay mechanics.
● Conduct playtesting, gather feedback, and iterate to improve player experience.
● Document and maintain clear, production-ready design specifications.
Requirements
● 2-5 years of experience as a Game Level Designer in shipped or in-production titles.
● Strong understanding of gameplay loops, player psychology, and progression
systems.
● Experience with Unreal Engine or similar engines for level creation and prototyping.
● Proficiency in blockout/greybox workflows to test gameplay before final art pass.
● Good grasp of narrative integration within level design.
● Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have
● Familiarity with scripting tools (C++, Blueprints, or similar) for rapid prototyping.
● Knowledge of design challenges (navigation, player flow, performance).
● Experience balancing difficulty curves and player progression systems.
