About Kernel Studio
Kernel Studio is an emerging independent game studio focused on creating engaging and innovative games. We are building our first game development team and are looking for motivated students and aspiring developers who want to gain practical experience by working on a real game project.
This is an opportunity to learn, collaborate with a small development team, and build something that can become a valuable addition to your portfolio.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Game Development Intern – Unity/C# who is interested in gameplay programming and wants to gain hands-on experience with Unity and C#.
You will work with the game development team to implement gameplay features, mechanics, UI systems, and other components of our game.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement gameplay mechanics using Unity and C#
- Create player movement, interactions, enemies, and game systems
- Work with Unity scenes, prefabs, components, and physics
- Implement basic UI and game menus
- Integrate animations, sounds, and other game assets
- Debug and fix gameplay issues
- Test features and improve game performance
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, and QA testers
- Use Git/GitHub for version control and project collaboration
- Participate in team meetings and development discussions
- Maintain basic documentation of your work
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of C#
- Basic understanding of Unity
- Understanding of programming fundamentals and OOP
- Willingness to learn game development
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to completing assigned tasks
Good To Have
- Personal Unity projects
- Game development experience
- Git/GitHub knowledge
- Basic knowledge of 2D or 3D game development
- Participation in game jams
- A GitHub portfolio or playable game
