About the Role
We’re on the hunt for a Backend Engineer who doesn’t just write clean code—but writes it with personality. If you think in data structures, dream in APIs, and have strong opinions about tabs vs spaces, you might be the eccentric technologist we’ve been waiting for.
As part of our small and nimble team, you'll be building robust, scalable systems that power real-world applications—while having the freedom to do things your way (as long as they make sense). Quirks welcome, curiosity encouraged, and creativity required.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable backend services.
- Design APIs that are clean, intuitive, and maybe even elegant.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and design teams—bonus points if you bring your own whiteboard markers.
- Own your code from development to deployment (and maybe even obsessively monitor logs for fun).
- Participate in architectural discussions with both logic and passion.
You Should Have
- 4–7 years of experience building backend systems (we’re tech-agnostic but partial to Python, Node.js, or Go).
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, databases (SQL or NoSQL), and cloud services like AWS/GCP.
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- An appreciation for both clean code and creative chaos.
- A strong sense of ownership—and a sense of humor doesn’t hurt either.
