About Future Fund

At the Future Fund, we're for future minds - like yours. The new investors and creators who thrive on different thinking and doing it together. Those who glimpse opportunity before it strikes and step up every day to grab it.

The Future Fund is Australia's Sovereign Wealth Fund, managing over $310 billion across seven public asset funds with the same purpose: growing Australia's future. We are a global investor and work closely with world leading investment organisations to access the best investment ideas.

Where others see challenges, we see more interesting investment experiences. Every person, every skillset, every mindset is an asset. We've got every future generation to consider, yet our approach to investing is incredibly pure: we think about it deeply, and daily. Ours is a culture where great people grow the future together, with the rare ability to work collaboratively, think freely, and make a real difference.

Are you Futureminded? Let's create what's next.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Portfolio Integration (PI) team. The PI team is responsible for asset allocation and sizing recommendations for asset classes in the physical portfolio. Sitting at the centre of our joined-up investment approach, we specialise in multi-asset investing by integrating top-down macro and market outlooks with asset class expertise to deliver superior investment returns.

In this hands-on role, you will contribute directly by building and maintaining models that underpin the team's quantitative investment process. You will also contribute to asset allocation and investment recommendations, working closely with investment experts across the investment team. Success in this role requires strong quantitative and technical skills, multi-asset experience and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quantitative support for team's core investment processes and developing and maintaining tools and models to support investment decision-making.
  • Developing and maintaining asset class risk and return forecasting models, and portfolio optimisation techniques to inform asset allocation recommendations.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to assess portfolio resilience.
  • Develop an expertise in cutting-edge portfolio construction techniques applied within the context of our joined-up, Total Portfolio Approach (TPA) to building portfolios.
  • Deepen expertise across broad set of listed and unlisted asset classes.
  • Support the preparation of investment recommendations and committee papers.
  • Collaborate with quant developers and data teams to drive improvements to modelling infrastructure and process efficiency.
  • Play an active role in fostering a high-performing and inclusive team culture.

About You

You bring at least 5 years of experience in investment management, banking, or institutional funds management, with a strong foundation in quantitative research or analysis. A degree with a quantitative focus is essential, and a postgraduate qualification in finance or a related discipline would be advantageous. Your markets knowledge and expertise spans multiple asset classes, and you have well-developed modelling and programming skills, preferably in SQL and Python, or any other statistical language such as R or MATLAB. Some exposure to MS Office applications, cloud technologies, ML/AI and vendor data systems is expected as well. You communicate complex ideas clearly and adapt your message to different audiences. You thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Please note that this opportunity is only open to Australian Citizens.
