About the company

We are SYNformulas – the company behind the Kijimea brand. Since our founding in 2011, we have pursued a clear vision: We want to specifically harness the potential of the microbiota (bacteria) in our intestines for a longer, healthier life – for everyone. We achieved a first major milestone on this path in 2013 with the discovery and clinical research of the unique bacterial strain B. bifidum MIMBb75 ( Kijimea Irritable Bowel Syndrome ). Since then, we have been able to noticeably improve the lives of millions of irritable bowel syndrome patients worldwide. Today, B. bifidum MIMBb75 is one of the best-researched bacterial strains in the world. Its efficacy and unique mechanism of action have been proven and published in numerous clinical studies – including in renowned journals such as The Lancet . We work with leading research institutions such as the Charité Berlin to research the connections between the microbiota (bacteria in our intestines) and allergies, skin diseases, and mental disorders. In short: We investigate how the bacteria in our gut influence a longer and healthier life. Today, we are one of the fastest-growing healthcare companies in the world. We reach our customers through a variety of channels: direct communication with doctors and pharmacists, as well as print, TV, and digital marketing. Our goal is clearly defined: By 2028, we want to make Kijimea the world's largest DTC probiotic brand, thereby giving over 50 million people a better life every year.
