Job details:
Company Description Reddix Robotics builds practical, hands-on robotics, Arduino, and IoT projects for learners, hobbyists, and aspiring engineers. The team focuses on real-world applications, documenting experiments, prototypes, and lessons learned across a range of complexity, from beginner Arduino projects to advanced robotics systems. Reddix Robotics emphasizes clear, approachable guidance to help people understand and implement modern robotics and embedded technologies. Prospective team members can expect a culture centered on experimentation, education, and sharing knowledge through guides, project updates, and digital kits. The company also offers early access to tutorials and resources for its community.
Role Description The Fusion 360 to URDF Engineer (ROS 2 Robotics) will be responsible for converting mechanical designs created in Fusion 360 into URDF models suitable for simulation and deployment in ROS 2-based robotic systems. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and organizing CAD assemblies, defining joints and kinematics, generating accurate collision and visual meshes, and validating URDF models within common ROS 2 simulation tools such as Gazebo or Ignition. The role involves collaborating with robotics and controls engineers to ensure models integrate with sensor, actuator, and navigation stacks, as well as documenting workflows, best practices, and educational materials for internal use and learners. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad, where the engineer will work closely with the team to support ongoing robotics projects, prototypes, and instructional content.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong CAD skills, including experience with Fusion 360 assemblies, part modeling, and export workflows for robotics applications.
- Candidates should possess robotics software skills, including familiarity with ROS 2, URDF/XACRO, and simulation tools such as Gazebo or Ignition.
- Candidates should possess programming skills relevant to robotics, such as Python or C++, and basic understanding of version control (e.g., Git).
- Candidates should possess mechanical and kinematics knowledge, including joint types, link structures, center of mass, and collision/visual geometry definition for robotic systems.
- Candidates should possess documentation and communication skills, including the ability to write clear technical guides, tutorials, and project notes for diverse skill levels.
- Relevant qualifications include a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with robotics projects.
- Experience with Arduino, embedded systems, or IoT integration, as well as hands-on prototyping and testing of robots, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and maintain a structured, detail-oriented approach to model validation and troubleshooting.
