Job purpose
The 2nd shift Foreman’s primary responsibility is to lead and motivate while participating in the daily activities of the shift. The foreman will be a working leader with associates who barcode, store received product within the racks, utilizing and maximizing the available space, while scanning the product to enable inventory tracking. This position requires the foreman to have a working knowledge of both the material handler and lift truck operator job descriptions.
Essential Functions and responsibilities

- Assigns job tasks, provides supervision of the shift to maximize employee performance and productivity.
- Oversees product movement to trucks or trailers; lift truck, hand truck, cart, or dolly, scan as required.
- Assist with associate counseling and performance evaluations; enforce adherence to company policies.
- Facilitate training to include product respect, material handling, inspection & scanning procedures.
- Maintains FLS equipment and property in good working condition; inspect, inventory and repair as needed.
- Be aware of and adhere to all safety procedures; maintain the DC in a clean and organized manner.
- Oversees preventive maintenance, initiates repair calls for lift trucks; ensure parts and supplies for lift trucks are available to prevent unnecessary service calls.
- Oversees Daily Lift Truck Operators Inspection Log to maintain proper care / maintenance and ensures harnesses and tethers are in proper working condition.
- Oversees cycle scan for inventory verification; inspects and maintains racks.
- Will be trained and have a working knowledge of barcoding procedures.
- Contribute to team effort by performing various related duties to accomplish needed results.
Working conditions
This job is an onsite position that operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, photocopiers and smartphones. As well as dolly, hand trucks, baler, and lift truck.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
