Role Description The Furniture Merchant will manage the end-to-end merchandising and sales process for ORANZEWOOD’s wooden handicrafts and furniture range. This full-time, on-site role in Jodhpur involves overseeing product selection, pricing, and display, while coordinating with production and design teams to ensure inventory aligns with market demand. The role includes building and maintaining relationships with retail partners, distributors, and direct customers, and supporting negotiations, orders, and after-sales service. The Furniture Merchant will monitor market trends, gather customer feedback, and recommend new product ideas or adjustments to existing lines. Daily responsibilities also involve maintaining accurate sales records, preparing reports, and contributing to promotional activities and showroom presentations.
Qualifications
- Experience in furniture merchandising, retail, or wholesale, with a strong understanding of wooden furniture and handicraft products.
- Skills in customer relationship management, negotiation, and basic sales operations.
- Ability to analyze market trends, pricing, and competitor offerings to support merchandising decisions.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, including familiarity with basic inventory and sales tracking tools.
- Effective communication skills in English and local languages, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Comfort working on-site in a showroom or warehouse environment in Jodhpur and collaborating with artisans and operations teams.
- Prior experience in the furniture, interior decor, or handicraft industry is preferred.
- Minimum educational qualification: Higher Secondary (12th pass); a diploma or degree in commerce, business, or design is an advantage.
