Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Furniture Designer who can translate design concepts into production-ready drawings. The role requires close coordination between the design team, factory production unit, and site execution team to ensure smooth delivery of modular and custom furniture solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Technical Development

• Prepare detailed 2D production drawings for modular furniture, joinery, and custom furniture.
• Develop BOQs and cutting lists for factory production.
• Ensure design feasibility as per manufacturing constraints.
• Optimize designs for cost efficiency and material utilization.
• Work on layout plans and furniture detailing for workplace interiors.

2. Factory Coordination

• Coordinate closely with production teams for design clarifications.
• Ensure drawings are aligned with machinery capabilities and material specifications.
• Conduct drawing audits before releasing for production.
• Support in prototype development and mock-ups.

3. Site Coordination

• Coordinate with site execution teams for installation drawings.
• Resolve site-level technical challenges related to furniture installation.
• Modify drawings as per site conditions where required.

4. Material & Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:
• Woodworking and joinery details
• Hardware (Hettich, Hafele, etc.)
• Modular furniture systems
• Surface finishes (laminate, veneer, PU, polish)
• Manufacturing processes (CNC, edge banding, cutting machines)

Required Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Knowledge of SolidWorks / SketchUp / similar 3D software
• Understanding of factory production processes
• Strong detailing and drafting skills
• Good coordination and communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Experience & Qualification

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Furniture Design / Interior Design / Product Design
• 3–6 years of experience in modular furniture manufacturing or fit-out industry
• Prior experience working with factory production teams preferred
