Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Furniture Designer role based in Gurugram. The Furniture Designer will conceptualize, design, and detail furniture pieces that align with client requirements, project guidelines, and Interior Company’s design standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing design concepts and 2D/3D drawings, selecting materials and finishes, and coordinating with interior designers and project teams to ensure cohesive space planning. The role involves collaborating with carpenters, vendors, and manufacturers to translate designs into high-quality finished products, while monitoring feasibility, durability, and cost-effectiveness. The Furniture Designer will also support site visits, quality checks, and design revisions based on client feedback and project constraints.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Furniture Design and hands-on understanding of Furniture construction and detailing.
- Knowledge of Carpentry techniques and materials to ensure designs are practical, safe, and manufacturable.
- Experience collaborating with Interior Design teams to integrate furniture within overall spatial concepts.
- Exposure to Product Design principles, including ergonomics, usability, and aesthetics, to enhance user experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD & SketchUp.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, prepare BOQs, and coordinate with vendors and fabrication teams.
- Strong creative thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work to timelines and budgets.
- Diploma or degree in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field; relevant internships or 2 years of experience preferred for this role.
