Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Furniture Designer role based in Hyderabad. The Furniture Designer will develop concepts, sketches, and detailed designs for custom furniture pieces aligned with client requirements, brand aesthetics, and functional needs. Day-to-day work includes collaborating with clients and the internal design team, preparing technical drawings, selecting materials and finishes, and coordinating with carpenters and vendors to ensure accurate production. The role involves visiting sites to assess spaces, taking measurements, and integrating furniture designs with overall interior design schemes. The Furniture Designer will also review prototypes, oversee quality, and refine designs based on feedback, timelines, and budget constraints.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Furniture Design and Furniture development, with the ability to translate concepts into practical, manufacturable products.
- Hands-on understanding of Carpentry and joinery techniques to ensure structural integrity, durability, and feasibility of designs.
- Experience in Interior Design, including space planning and coordination of furniture within overall design schemes.
- Exposure to Product Design principles such as ergonomics, usability, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar), along with strong freehand sketching skills.
- Diploma or degree in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work to timelines and budgets.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, vendors, and internal teams on-site in Hyderabad.
