PNS Constructions is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Furniture Designer to design functional, aesthetically appealing, and cost-effective furniture solutions for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. The ideal candidate should have expertise in furniture design, material selection, production drawings, and coordination with production and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design custom furniture based on client requirements and project specifications.
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, renderings, and detailed production drawings.
- Develop furniture concepts considering functionality, ergonomics, aesthetics, and cost.
- Select suitable materials, finishes, hardware, and accessories.
- Coordinate with architects, interior designers, production teams, and vendors.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and cutting lists.
- Ensure designs comply with quality standards and manufacturing feasibility.
- Visit project sites for measurements, client discussions, and installation support.
- Review prototypes and suggest improvements before production.
- Stay updated on furniture design trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Support estimation and costing by providing accurate design specifications.
- Ensure timely completion of design deliverables as per project schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in furniture or modular furniture design.
- Experience in residential and commercial interior projects is preferred.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar design software.
- Knowledge of V-Ray, Lumion, or Enscape for rendering is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of furniture construction techniques.
- Knowledge of wood, plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, metal, glass, upholstery, and hardware.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and modular furniture systems.
- Excellent visualization and space-planning skills.
- Strong communication and client presentation skills.
- Good problem-solving and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects.
