Functional Tester
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Functional Tester with strong healthcare payer domain knowledge and handson expertise in testing membervisitor portals The candidate will own functional validation for key portal journeys such as benefit exploration PCPprovider search and claims submission tracking ensuring high quality releases through robust test design execution defect management and collaboration with crossfunctional teams
Key Responsibilities
Functional Testing Quality Ownership
Analyze business requirements user stories and acceptance criteria identify gaps and ambiguities early
Create and maintain test strategy test plan RTM and detailed test cases for portal features
Log defects in tools like JIRA Azure DevOps or similar Collaborate with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues
Prepare test reports and ensure timely delivery of testing milestones
Execute functional integration regression and UAT support testing for
o Member portal journeys login profile benefits claims provider search
o Visitor portal journeys planbenefit discovery provider search content navigation
Validate frontend and backend behavior including workflow rules validations error handling and edge cases
Perform endtoend testing across portal downstream payer systems claims eligibility provider directory benefits
Portal Healthcare Feature Coverage
Validate benefits display plan details coverage limits copaycoinsurancedeductibleOOP innetwork vs outofnetwork
Test PCP search and provider directory
o filteringsorting location radius specialty network accepting new patients PCP assignment rules
o provider details page office locations hours contact accessibility map integration if applicable
Test claims submission tracking
o claim forms document upload validations status tracking EOB visibility claim history
o business rules like timely filing duplicate checks missing fields attachments submission confirmation
Validate portal interactions with member eligibility coverage effective dates and benefit applicability
Defect Management Collaboration
Log defects with strong reproduction steps screenshots logs and expected vs actual results
Triage defects with DevBAProduct teams ensure timely resolution and retestverification
Participate in sprint ceremonies planning grooming daily standups retros
Provide QA signoff readiness metrics test execution status defect leakage risk assessment
NonFunctional Test Optimization as applicable
Perform basic API validation using PostmanSwagger member info provider directory claims endpoints
Validate crossbrowser compatibility ChromeEdgeFirefoxSafari as applicable and responsive behavior
Support accessibility sanity checks WCAG basics usability and content accuracy
Identify opportunities to reduce regression time via reusable scenarios and smoke suites
Required Skills Experience
MustHave
Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
Handson experience with manual testing technique
Familiarity with test management tools eg HP ALM TestRail
Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation
Ability to write clear and concise test documentation
Good understanding of AgileScrum methodologies

Experience with API testing Postman basic SQL for data validation
Knowledge of HIPAA and handling of PHIPII in test data and environments
Exposure to test automation SeleniumCypress is a plus but role is primarily functional
