Position: Functional Consultant – Dynamics F&O

About the Role:
The Functional Consultant will support the Power BI Reporting team by translating business requirements into effective reporting solutions. The role requires strong expertise in Finance & Accounting processes, D365 FinOps, data flows, posting logic, and Supply Chain Management. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and reporting developers to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Functional Analysis:
- Gather, analyse, and document reporting requirements from Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain teams.
- Interpret GL, AP, AR, FA, Inventory, and Costing processes for reporting needs.
- Map end-to-end business processes to data entities used in Power BI and FinOps. to end business processes to data entities used in Power BI and FinOps.
- Validate posting logic, and reconciliation steps.
Power BI Reporting Support:
- Define functional requirements and KPIs for reporting dashboards.
- Ensure Power BI reports align with business rules, accounting principles, and audit requirements.
- Drive UAT sessions and coordinate with end users for signoffs.
- Troubleshoot Power BI report issues related to data accuracy, logic, and business mapping.
Finance, Accounting & FinOps Expertise:
- Provide functional knowledge on:
- GL postings
- Subledger flows
- Financial reconciliations
- Period end processes end processes
- Inventory costing
- Procure-to-Pay / Order-to-Cash processes
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Work with data engineering teams to define data sourcing, transformations, and validation.
- Partner with Power BI developers to design optimal report layouts and calculations.
- Coordinate with process owners from Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1 - 3 years of experience as a Functional Consultant in Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain.
- Strong understanding of D365 Finance & Operations (FinOps) or similar ERPs.
- Handson knowledge of accounting flows, subledgers, financial postings, and process mapping.
- Familiarity with Power BI fundamentals: data models, measures, visuals, and DAX logic (functional level).
- Experience working with reporting teams or analytics teams.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Strong documentation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience with Power BI or BI tools (functional view).
- Experience in Finance & Supply Chain modules.
- Prior involvement in system implementations or upgrades.
