MS D365 Business Central (BC) Functional Consultant (2–3 Years Experience)
We’re looking for a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant with strong finance expertise to join our implementation and support team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in end-to-end BC projects, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently on requirement gathering, documentation, configuration, training, and L1/L2 support. Occasional onsite travel will be required.
About the Role
As a D365 BC Functional Consultant, you will be responsible for understanding client business processes, designing and configuring Business Central solutions, preparing functional documentation, supporting testing and go-live, and providing post-implementation support. You’ll work closely with clients, project managers, developers, and end-users to deliver high-quality ERP implementations and ongoing support.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplementation & Configuration
- Participate in full lifecycle implementations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through workshops and client meetings.
- Perform GAP-fit analysis and prepare Functional Requirements Documents (FRD) and functional design specifications.
- Configure Business Central modules (Finance, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, etc.) to meet client needs.
- Support data migration activities including data templates, imports, and validation.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), issue resolution, and go-live activities.
Support & Maintenance
- Handle L1 and L2 support tickets, including analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Provide ongoing functional support and guidance to end-users post-implementation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
Documentation & Training
- Prepare and maintain all functional documentation, including FRDs, process flows, test scenarios, and user guides.
- Conduct end-user training sessions (classroom, virtual, and one-on-one).
- Create training materials and job aids to support user adoption.
Client Engagement & Pre-Sales Support
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering best practice recommendations.
- Support pre-sales activities including product demos, RFP/RFQ responses, and solution scoping when required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Functional Consultant in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
- Finance Expertise: Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes is mandatory.
- Implementation Experience: Proven experience in at least one full-cycle BC implementation and support projects.
- Certification: MB-800: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant certification is a strong advantage.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel onsite to client locations as needed.
Key Skills & CompetenciesFunctional & Technical
- Strong knowledge of D365 BC modules, especially Finance, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and basic Manufacturing/Service (as applicable).
- Experience with requirement workshops, GAP analysis, FRD preparation, and functional design.
- Familiarity with data migration, UAT coordination, and post-go-live support.
- Basic understanding of Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) from a functional perspective is a plus.
